The security team have an exciting secondment opportunity to appoint a temporary Security Services Coordinator until December 2019 to undertake some project and development work, working directly for the Head of Security and working closely with and in support of all Security Supervisors and Shifts.

The project work will involve:
Initially the appointed candidate will be involved in playing a leading role in planning, organising and implementing a number of changes and improvements in the lead up to the new student intake, in relation to some key areas including, but not limited to:-
● Relaunch of the Safezone App, including training for officers and awareness of users;
● Coordinating a series of improvements within the Security Control Room and operational working, including analysis and reporting of Topdesk data;
● Supporting the planning of the Security Teams approach towards the Fresher’s period;
● Supporting a number of other key projects linked to equipment, recruitment, administration etc. that enhance the effectiveness and smooth running of the Security Team.
Following the student intake the secondment will include, but not be limited to:-
● support the Control Room and Security Shift operation there, through providing direct support as well as through undertaking analysis of data to identify trends in incidents
● To monitor and provide reports on Topdesk data in order to enable all teams to improve performance and consistency in key areas
● to support the coordination and continuity of working across Security Shifts and Supervisors through preparing briefings for incoming shifts and other teams;
● To produce ‘tasking’ packages that will lead to operational action and support the Head of Security and Supervisors and Security Team deliver improved outcomes;
● to support the smooth running of the security team through providing administrative and other support as appropriate to its needs.

This role will broadly be on a Monday - Friday basis working daytime hours, however, occasional early evening or weekend work may be required and some flexibility of approach towards this would be advantageous, in line with a 5 over 7 shift arrangement.

Successful applicants must have substantial understanding of the security role, competence across all areas of the control room technology and systems and must be able to demonstrate that they have a proven track record in the development and delivery of improvement work and also in supporting/training or mentoring colleagues to deliver better outcomes.
