Grade 5 Starting salary £22,658 pro-rata (fixed term/part time)
(0.6 fte until 30th April 2021, then 0.4 fte until 31st January 2023)

This post represents an exciting opportunity for an individual to join a team of staff in Keele University’s Faculty of Natural Sciences. The Faculty is responsible for the School of Chemical and Physical Sciences.

The post offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a busy team of administrators, technical and academic staff. Working closely with the Project Coordinators and a wide range of internal and external people you will provide professional administrative support for the coordination and management of the Marie Curie network, a large EU funded network named POLKA and the ChETEC COST Action project, as well as helping with the administration of STFC PhD studentships. This will involve preparing regular reports required by the European Commission, supporting project workshops and Supervisory Board meetings, supporting project recruitment activities and providing support on project finance matters. Your responsibilities will also include coordinating complex travel arrangements, updating and maintaining project websites, undertaking straight forward data analysis and maintaining detailed and electronic files.

You will be education to A level standard or NVQ level 3 or possess relevant equivalent experience and have recent experience of working in a similar administrative capacity and, if possible, experience of working in Higher Education. Other essential criteria includes: experience of dealing professionally with a wide range of internal and external people; use of the MS Office suite, in particular Word, Excel and Access as well as the ability to learn new software packages; and possess website editing skills. You will have the confidence to use your initiative when dealing with tasks, possess good writing skills and have an eye for detail. You will also have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, be a strong team player and have a customer friendly approach.
