Grade 7, starting salary £33,199 (pro rata) 0.89fte
Term time only (12 month fixed term)

This Post represents an exciting opportunity for an individual to join a team of staff in Keele University’s Directorate of Student and Academic Services. The Directorate brings together the student services that ensure students are safe, supported and able to thrive in their academic environment with the academic services that facilitate a smooth working and learning environment for students and for academic and professional staff.

This role is a key role offering support, advice and guidance to students during the evening and night, identifying at an early stage those students who may need referring onto specialist services. Working alongside the University Security Team and Resident Advisers as a first point of contact for any pastoral, welfare or health needs, quickly understanding the issue and working to either resolve this or provide relevant information and advice or referral.

Working with colleagues across Student Services the post holder will monitor and review the nature of call outs and incidents and provide statistical analysis and reports to evaluate the service, assess the impact of activities and identify areas for future development.

We are looking for 2 individuals to work a shift pattern of 6pm to 6am, four days on, four off to cover the University’s term time (the role holders will not be required to work during non-term time periods). The individuals will have experience of supporting students experiencing crisis alongside dealing with complex issues such as mental health and complex disabilities as well as delivering mental health support. They will also have experience of working in partnership with external healthcare services in the context of providing effective student support.
