Grade 8, Starting salary £42,036 (pro rata)

Fixed term until 31st December 2021
Part time and full time opportunities between 0.6fte – 1fte

The Research and Innovation Advisor role provides the opportunity for an ambitious individual to play in key role in the delivery of a key initiative: the Research & Innovation Support programme within the SMART Innovation Hub, a programme part-funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This new programme will work with around 200 businesses and aims to increase small to medium sized business investment in research, development and innovation (RD&I), and will underpin the commercialisation of new products, increase productivity, stimulate growth and create new high value jobs in the Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire area.

Research and Innovation Advisors will work as part of an Innovation Team on a series of RD&I projects that will result in the development of new products, processes or services for SMEs in the Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire area.

As Research and Innovation Advisor you will play a lead role in developing a detailed understanding of individual SME’s specific research, development and innovation needs; using these to develop and implement a bespoke RD&I collaboration between the University, the SME and RD&I Associate(s).

You will possess a degree or equivalent qualification in a science or business discipline. You will also have previous experience of working with businesses to deliver evidence based research and innovation-led projects. This role may suit someone seeking a part-time or portfolio role, and we welcome applications on that basis.

This post is part-funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the England 2014 to 2020 European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) Growth Programme.
