This is an exciting opportunity for a coordinator with experience in working in research teams. You will work as a member of the multidisciplinary ECLIPSE team (Empowering people with cutaneous leishmaniasis: intervention programme to improve patient journey and reduce stigma via community education).

The neglected tropical disease cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is a highly stigmatising skin condition that often leads to discrimination, social exclusion and poverty which, in turn, may lead to additional health problems. ECLIPSE is a four-year healthcare programme which aims to improve the CL patient journey and reduce stigma in the most marginalised and underserved communities in Brazil, Ethiopia and Sri Lanka. ECLIPSE is led by Dr Helen Price, parasitologist, and Dr Lisa Dikomitis, medical anthropologist, together with an international, cross-cultural team that includes clinicians, anthropologists, psychologists, disease specialists and public health researchers.

The post will be housed in the School of Primary, Community and Social Care. The ECLIPSE Research Programme Coordinator will provide day-to-day project support to the research team and will organise, participate in and record minutes from team meetings. Responsibilities will include overseeing field team adherence to contract requirements and funder regulations, including allowances, quarterly reports and meeting project milestones. The Research Programme Coordinator will also oversee financial aspects of the project by reviewing, together with the Research Finance team, monthly invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with contract provisions. Periodic field visits may be required to monitor project administration, conduct training of international staff, take part in audits and oversee work planning of the country project coordinators. The Research Programme Coordinator will support the two Principal Investigators (Dikomitis and Price) in identifying issues or potential risks and making informed decisions in order to address any issues.

The successful candidate will have experience of supporting large research projects, including collating research data and project information, co-ordinate preparation and submission of financial and milestone reports. You will also support the team in organising events including an annual scientific meeting and two UK-based exhibitions. You will have excellent communication skills, an ability to work independently, and have an organised approach to the management of your work.

The successful candidate will line manage, and work closely together, with the ECLIPSE Project Administrator. The Research Programme Coordinator role will involve a number of short field trips to one or more of the ECLIPSE countries and training retreats in the UK.
